The Importance of Being Earnest

First performed on 14 February 1895 at the St James's Theatre in London, it is a farcical comedy in which the protagonists maintain fictitious personæ to escape burdensome social obligations. Working within the social conventions of late Victorian London, the play's major themes are the triviality with which it treats institutions as serious as marriage, and the resulting satire of Victorian ways.

Performances are Fridays and Saturdays, March 31 through April 8 at 7:30 pm and a Sunday Matinee on April 9 at 3 pm. Tickets are $17 for General Admission and $14 for Seniors and Students. X*ACT Members will receive a 10% discount. The Opening Night GALA begins at 6:30 pm the first Friday of the run. All tickets for this special Fundraising performance are $20 each and includes a wine tasting sponsored by Caesar Creek Vineyards and light hors d'oeuvres.
